Festival Del Cinema di Castel Volturno 2022

Forty days to tear down the “Green Sail” / “Vela Verde” is the goal reached after thirty-five years of uninterrupted struggle carried out by the Committee –“ Vele di Scampia” .
“Addio Dolce Casa Mia/FAREWELL,MYSWEET HOME” is a documentary that tries to tell what it means to be born and grown up in the “Sails” of Scampia. Our documentary begins on 20 February 2020, when the demolition of the Green Sail was supposed to start. On that day, hundreds journalists reached the site to attend the event, ready to immortalize the fall of the imposing building which has for too long been used as a symbol of “Camorra”.
Farewell, my sweet home… is composed by three stories that intertwine with each other in an elegant and symbolic way. The first story shows numerous children from the “Blue Sail” engaged in the construction of what they call “A casarella”. In the dark and cold garages of the “Blue Sail”, we find a group of laborious children busy in the construction of this magical place, "La casarella", which will become their meeting point, their play area, their tree house.
The second story tells us about Nadia, a seventeen-year-old girl who identifies herself a lot with the “Red Sail” , where she grew up. Nadia explains how difficult it is to be poor, to feel lonely, to be abandoned. At the age of 4, she was abandoned by her mum and, since then, she has been living with her father Savatore. Despite her anger, she describes with extreme maturity her story as well as how she felt on 20 February, when the demolition started.
The third story tells us about Francesco Vinci, a man who, after years of prison, mistakes, and problems with the law, has once again found the strength to stand up. In the nineties, after finding himself on the street one more time, Francesco finally decided to occupy one of the apartments of the “Yellow Sail”, being in desperate need of a house for his wife and newborn son. Today he is a member of the Committee "Vele di Scampia" and he is currently working on the construction site for the demolition of the “Green Sail”. Thanks to this job, he managed to regain some dignity and a pinch of serenity. After many years of suffering and sacrifices, Francesco and his sweet wife Carmela have only one dream: to have their own house.

Blu Cobalto

A boiling hot summer night, a rock concert just finished, three stray dogs in the dark of the night.
Rockstell is an immigrant peddler with an expiring residence permit. He is a romantic dreamer, so grated to the country that welcomed and hosts him. He travels around Italy on board of his yellow van, full of mystery and magic.
Blues is an unemployed anarchist who has not found his way in life yet. He drives Rockstell’s van, cause he doesn't have a driver's license, and he is his only unaware true friend.
Leila is a “call girl” like a firefly without glow. She is a woman with a difficult childhood, who finds her light and her comfort with people that she’d never seen before.
It all happens in one night: friendship, understanding, awareness, fear, magic, helplessness, love and violence.
Their story is interrupted by a senseless brutality of two aggressors. Nevertheless deep feelings continue to flow through the yellow van, emblem of their freedom ... beyond the dark, beyond death.
A violent but romantic, brutal but delicate, introspective but friendly movie, where metaphors are mixed with magic and magic with reality.

THE START

An intergenerational challenge on the themes of the environment hosted in the enchanting atmosphere of the island of Procida. Tommy will teach us how small daily gestures will save the World, our island in the universe!
Production and Photography Note:
The environmental mission of the short film was an inspiration for the same Production that, in agreement with Photography, implemented all the systems for self-sustaining and the minimum environmental impact for the realisation. For the shooting, self-built and / or reaustic equipment was used (optics of the 70s, gripment built with pieces of disused cinematographic equipment), for the lighting the Author of Photography Francesco Morra used only natural light, filters and reflection systems present on the locations, the batteries were recharged with solar panels (etc, etc).
Director Carlo Alessandro Argenzio Thanks to Giffoni Innovation Hub then launched a campaign entitled #LaChallenge with notebooks like Tommy's with which the kids continued the everyday challenge to save the planet.

La Challenge

Between 7 and 8 am ( Tra le 7 e le 8)

Spring 2020. In the middle of pandemic Diego, a Neapolitan boy, has just turned eighteen. He’s called after his father’s idol, Diego Armando Maradona. However, Diego does not love football and does not live in Naples. At least not anymore. Following his mother’s death, Diego moved with his father, Franco, in a suburban’s borough in Rome. Though, he seems to be getting along better with the Africans refugees living in the building next to his than with his new classmates. His days are lonely and introverted until Franco is forced to guest in their house a young girl named Tea. Tea is a rebel, fearful, unbreakable, revolutionary ad unconventional.
The forced coexistence that Diego and Tea live will be the boy’s coming of age journey, with the addition of a new Italy covered in mask and its old and new issues. Diego will find out that with fresh eyes he can live another world to live in, the knowledge that line between good and evil, right and wrong, immigrant and resident, winner and won, can be really thin.
